3 Sets to Mix & Match

After much research, sketches and concept studies, I came up with 3 sets of dinnerware collections that are intended for mixing and matching. In achieving this, I had to create diversity while still maintaining a unified theme for every piece. I chose colors which were harmonious and strategically applied them to every plate, bowl and mug. I also created several patterns out of a single motif-the ginkgo leaf. By modifying one element in different ways such as scale, negative space and outline, I was able to create varying patterns for all 3 sets. This way I was able to make each piece stand alone and blend in with the rest at the same time
